23/06/2022 Pictured are Youth Campaigners with BiteBack UK (l to r) Caroline Cotter, Jacob Rosenberg and Christina Adane, at the Irish Heart Foundation’s political briefing for the Stop Targeting Kids campaign, today June 23. Ipsos data published at the event shows that over 79% of people would support a TV ban on unhealthy food and drink ads being extended to 9pm. A further three quarters (77%), are in favour of a ban on the use the personal data of under-18s to individually target them with advertising and promotion of such products online. The Irish Heart Foundation wants action on both and says the research should prompt the Government to follow the UK and legislate to protect the next generation from diet-related disease.
